I knit this little cowl on my trip to Asheville last April. I started it on the bus down to Boston…worked on it on the plane to DC…and in the car to Asheville… I can’t remember at what point I finished but it was well before our arrival. I picked this project to work on because it was perfect travel knitting – small, portable and simple enough to memorize.
The pattern is called Present and if I’d had more of the beautiful yarn I chose for it, I’d probably have doubled it to make it wrap around twice. The yarn I used was a gorgeous worsted weight superwash merino by The Woolen Rabbit called Frolic. The color is Through the Looking Glass and I absolutely adore it. I always buy some yarn from them at SPA for my birthday present to myself and last year I bought several because as I’d been winding the previous year’s purchase, I realized that moths had gotten to it and I ended up with about a dozen small yarn balls. BOO. Nothing to be done but to treat myself to some extra yarn!
I did deviate from the pattern a little bit to make it symmetrical from top to bottom. I do like symmetry… See the details about mine on Ravelry.
