I’ve been really slacking on my running this summer – running in hot weather = dehydration + overheating = migraines. BOO. Last year, when I was just a newbie runner, I had a much easier time over the summer. We lived right by the best running trail and I could go at night after the kids went to bed and mostly avoid the heat of the day. This year, they go to bed much later so that doesn’t work, and we’re nowhere near a good running trail. There’s a small river walk but I’d have to run back and forth over and over for it to be long enough, which is…weird. (Plus if I kept running near my house, I’d be tempted to just stop. Over and over. I’m like that.)
Anyway, today was beautiful and cool so I took the kids down to the cove to run there and I can still push 70+lbs of kid and jog! So that’s nice. At one point along the trail I noticed someone had made a heart out of rocks in the shallow water of the cove. Awww.
